چکیده

ABSTRACT The successful intercropping with vegetables depends on the type of crops grown and proper handling tested treatments, such as time transplanting a crop in relation to another crop, among others. Thus, objective this work was evaluate bio-agronomic performance eggplant tomato for industry, intercropping, their single crops, function cultivation season (summer or winter). experimental design used randomized complete block ten treatments four replications, implanted two growing seasons (from February September from August February), where consisted times (-30, -25, -20, -15, -10, -5, 0, +5, +10 +15 days transplantation). In each block, plots monocultures were planted time, well plot monoculture order obtain indices. competition efficiency indices intercropped systems evaluated. variation significantly interferes both species. Eggplant performed between -20 -15 compared transplantation reduces dominance one over other interspecific environmental resources. system has greater land equivalent ratio when is transplanted at after tomato.

Agronomic efficiency of intercropping tomato and lettuce.

Four experiments were carried out at the São Paulo State University, Brazil, with the aim of determining the agronomic viability of intercropping tomato and lettuce, under greenhouse conditions. The studied intercropping systems were established by transplanting lettuce at 0, 10, 20 and 30 days after transplanting (DAT) tomato and by transplanting tomato at 0, 10, 20 and 30 DAT lettuce. Intercr...

Performance of eggplant grafted onto cultivated, wild, and hybrid materials of eggplant and tomato

Eggplant (Solanum melongena) is amenable to grafting and this technique can be exploited to improve production of this vegetable crop. Here, we study the performance of the ‘Cristal F1’ eggplant cultivar grafted onto a total of 17 rootstocks, including five families, each of which is made by two parents and their hybrid, as well a commercial eggplant rootstock and a self-grafted control. Three ...

Agronomic viability of New Zealand spinach and kale intercropping.

The intercropping is a production system that aims to provide increased yield with less environmental impact, due to greater efficiency in the use of natural resources and inputs involved in the production process. An experiment was carried out to evaluate the agronomic viability of kale and New Zealand spinach intercropping as a function of the spinach transplanting time. (0, 14, 28, 42, 56, 7...

Row Ratios of Intercropping Maize and Soybean Can Affect Agronomic Efficiency of the System and Subsequent Wheat

Intercropping is regarded as an important agricultural practice to improve crop production and environmental quality in the regions with intensive agricultural production, e.g., northern China. To optimize agronomic advantage of maize (Zea mays L.) and soybean (Glycine max L.) intercropping system compared to monoculture of maize, two sequential experiments were conducted. Experiment 1 was to s...

New Insights on Eggplant/Tomato/Pepper Synteny and Identification of Eggplant and Pepper Orthologous QTL

Eggplant, pepper, and tomato are the most exploited berry-producing vegetables within the Solanaceae family. Their genomes differ in size, but each has 12 chromosomes which have undergone rearrangements causing a redistribution of loci. The genome sequences of all three species are available but differ in coverage, assembly quality and percentage of anchorage. Determining their syntenic relatio...
